certificate 3 in fitnessThe Certificate 3 in Fitness (Brisbane) is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of a gym, group or aqua aerobics instructor.

Our Cert III course provides you with an extensive knowledge of exercise principles enabling you to fully understand the effect of exercise on the body and therefore to write and adapt fitness programs to suit the specific needs of individuals, groups or teams. You will be able to adapt programs to suit various environments as well as provide technical advice on equipment and exercise techniques.

The College of Health & Fitness provides you with “hands on” practical training in a fully equipped gym and/or pool for specific units of this course.

Gym Instructor

Graduates who specialise in Gym Instruction provide individually tailored client assessments, provide technique correction as needed and develop and demonstrate programs. They also provide supervision of a facility or service, keep equipment clean, tidy and well maintained, and handle various customer inquiries.

Group Exercise Instructor

If you specialise in Group Exercise Instruction you will deliver exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients with a mix of ages/fitness levels. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. You will instruct and demonstrate complete exercise sessions to groups with limited individual interaction.

Aqua Instructor

Specialising in Aqua Exercise Instruction qualifies you to deliver water-based exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. You will also have the skills to rescue a client in distress, and an appropriate level of pool deck fitness and endurance.
